Our Instructors

Jill Swift

Jill Swift, the proprietor of October Farm since 2005, has over 20 years of experience with horses and graduated with a BA in Psychology from Boston College. Jill is a United States Pony Club B graduate and has been a MA licensed riding instructor since 1993, and has a background in Eventing through Training level and Dressage through Second level. Jill also has extensive experience working with green horses and retraining OTTB’s for new careers in Dressage, Eventing and Hunters.

She has worked with: Dottie Morkis, Kathy Connelly, Joy Congdon, Stephie Baer, Dennis Glaccum, David Olynik, Lynn Kimball Davis, Jane Sleeper, Tony Provencher, Kelli Mason, Jerry and Becky Schurink.

Dale Ryan

Dale has been riding and teaching for many years. She had the good fortune to live in El Salvador and ride with Hubert Rorher, former First Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. Later she lived in Germany and rode with Georg Prause, a former olympic team trainer. She brought her Trakehner/Lippizan WB, Inshallah back to this country and evented successfully (mostly!) through training level. She now feels very fortunate to have "Bart" in her life, Katie Quick's Lovely WB.

Dale is the sales manager for the Providence Picture Frame Co./Dryden Galleries in Providence, RI.
